About the Isuzu Impulse RS

The Impulse RS is one of the great oddities of Japanese performance: an Isuzu, styled by Giugiaro, with suspension developed by Lotus, all-wheel drive, and a 160 hp turbocharged 1.6 with a Recaro-lined interior. Isuzu built it in tiny numbers before abandoning passenger cars entirely.

Investment Grade ยท Sensible

The Isuzu Impulse RS (1990-1992) is a sensible buy rather than a speculative one: bulletproof reliability (65/10) that owners routinely daily-drive, low running costs (60/10 maintenance), and parts remain widely available (32/10) make the AWD package easy to live with. Values have been essentially flat (+1.0% over 12 months), and a rarity score of 65/100 keeps good cars in short supply, so patience usually beats urgency here. The upside is modest, but the cost of ownership is predictable and the driving experience is the real return.
